DUNE LondonPress Releases | Liaising | Events
During the summer of 2015, I completed an internship within the Dune London Press Team. My role was a Press Assistant where my duties included, compiling coverage documents, sending out samples to the press, liaising with journalists and organising and helping with events. During the internship I learnt about the practicality of working within press relations and the importance it has on the promotion of products and collections. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Dune London, especially the organisation of the events and being able to see the concept brought to life speaking to bloggers, influential people and journalists about the collections. I took part in two events whilst working for Dune London, first was a blogger event, of which was a sit down lunch that was designed to network with bloggers in order to gain coverage on the AW15 range on their blogs. This was a great day with a beautiful set up and allowed me to broaden my interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels. I was then asked to return in December 2015 to assist with their SS16 event, one of the brands main events to preview the season’s styles and collection. This was great for myself as it showed that I made a great impression during my first internship. It also allowed me to build on my organisation and communication skills and allowed me to be a representative of the brand at a much higher level, communicating with editors of Long Lead and Short Lead magazines and newspapers. Overall my experience at Dune London developed my ability to work within a fast paced environment whilst meeting targets at all times. I enjoyed the various elements to the role, which allowed me to be pro-active and commercially aware of the brand I was working for. |
